Arby Fields pushed over the winning run for the Santa Barbara Foresters on Sunday, drawing a bases-loaded walk to score Cal Vogelsang in the sixth inning on the way to a 3-2 victory over the Conejo Oaks.
The result improves the Foresters to 8-4 in the California Collegiate League standings, while the Oaks fall to 5-7.
Austin Davidson knocked in Santa Barbara’s other two runs. Fields scored in the first inning while Kaeo Aliviado came across in the bottom of the third.
Jacob Felts added three hits for the Foresters.
Vince Wheeland started for Santa Barbara and gave up two runs, one earned, in three innings. Andrew Vasquez and Willie Kuhl each posted two scoreless innings before TJ McGreevy and Hunter Lemke finished off. The Foresters bullpen combined for six innings of scoreless relief.
Kuhl, McGreevy and Lemke held Conejo hitless in the game’s final four innings.
Conejo’s Luke Eubank scratched Santa Barbara with two hits and an RBI.
Santa Barbara takes the series having won on Friday evening 19-2. Conejo came back on Saturday to win 5-0.
