Foresters take down fourth straight

Jacob Felts went deep for the Santa Barbara Foresters on Thursday in a 6-1 non-league victory over the Newport Beach Pearl at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.

It was the Foresters’ fourth win in a row, which is Santa Barbara’s second-longest winning streak of the season after an earlier seven-game run.

Felts added a double, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and two runs scored.

Arby Fields also had two hits and scored two runs.

John Beck was the winning pitcher for making it through five innings. Cody Dickson, TJ McGreevy, Albert Minnis and Michael Kwan each recorded a scoreless inning of relief to close out the game.

Santa Barbara now welcomes MLB Academy to Caesar Uyesaka Stadium for a key three-game California Collegiate League series. The Foresters (16-8, 8-4) and the Barons (11-5, 8-5) are currently the top two teams in the conference standings.
