The Santa Barbara Foresters are returning home from Las Vegas with a Lucky 7.
The Foresters overcame a 3-run deficit and scored the winning runs in the ninth inning on Sunday to defeat Team Vegas 7-5 for their seventh win in a row.
Arby Fields drove in the winning run on an infield single. Fields beat out a grounder that allowed Nick O’Hern to score from third base. It was a close play at first base and while Vegas’ started to argue to call, Shane Hoelscher ended up scoring from second to make the score 7-5.
It was a fitting finish for Fields, who made a big impact throughout the game at the plate. Before the ninth, Fields had already hit a home run, doubled, and singled in the game.
Santa Barbara, 9-5, 5-1, returns home to Caesar Uyesaka Stadium for a three-game series with the San Luis Obispo Blues starting Tuesday.
