San Marcos’ girls 4×400 relay team made the cut at Saturday’s CIF Division 3 Prelims for the chance to compete at next week’s CIF Finals at Mt. SAC.
The team of Jillian Fisher, Kaylin Koopmans, Annie Thwing and Emily Allen posted a season-best time of 4:05.10 to finish ninth overall at Prelims. Harvard-Westlake’s quartet recorded the fastest time of 3:56.20.
The Royals’ 4×400 boys team just missed qualifying by finishing 12th. It was still a good race for Cole Erickson, Davey McBride, Victor Sanchez and Cameron Kruikshank, as they walked away with a season-best of 3:26.06
The top individual result for a Royal boy was McBride, who finished 14th in the 300 hurdles. For the girls, it was Fisher’s 100 meter. The sophomore clocked 12.73 for 17th place.
