Two Dos Pueblos track and field sophomore athletes earned trips to the State Meet with their performances a the CIF-SS Masters Meet on Friday at Cerritos College.
Stamatia Scarvelis finished second in the shot put and Addi Zerrenner finished fourth in the 3200 to qualify for next weekend’s state championships in Fresno. Scarvelis threw 46-4.75 to finish behind La Sierra junior Tanya Sapa, who threw 46-9.50.
In the 3200, Zerrenner ran 10:28.01. Sarah Baxter of Simi Valley finished first in 10:08.7, followed by Laura Hollander of Marina (10:17.2) and Xochitl Navarrete of Colony (10:26).
In the boys 3200, DP junior Bryan Fernandez ran 9:29.59 and did not qualify.
