Two Santa Barbara High doubles teams won second- and third-round matches on Friday in Carpinteria to advance to the Round of 32 of the CIF Individual Boys Tennis Tournament next week.
The teams of Logan Liddell-Morgan Hale and Mitchell Kuhn-Jack Damen each scored straight-sets victories after first-round byes.
Liddell-Morgan, the Channel League champions, knocked off the Arroyo Grande team of Derek Lakowske-Jordan Hayashi 6-4, 6-1 and then defeated Zachery Resnick-Ben Gelfand of Santa Monica 6-2, 6-1.
Kuthn-Damen opened with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Clint Gioia-Russell Beebler of Santa Ynez 6-3, 6-1 and capped their day with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Phillip Lon-Kevin Hong of Burroughs.
In singles, Santa Barbara’s Nico Pollero lost in the second round to Eli Whitney of Arroyo Grande, 6-3, 7-6.
