Santa Barbara High’s Chad Arneson has been named the California Coaches Association High School Boys Volleyball Coach of the Year.
The award recognizes coaching excellence as well as contributions of time, service and dedication to the profession of athletics.
Arneson has coached the Dons for 10 years and has won the Channel League title every season. This year’s squad went undefeated in league and is in the second round of the CIF Division 1 playoffs.
“I’m just trying to get the most out of every player,” said Arneson in a television interview.
Arneson is the second Santa Barbara High coach to win the award. A year ago, boys golf coach James Bedard received the honor.
