Carpinteria’s David Cornejo and Noah Woo won Tri-Valley League titles at Thursday’s Track and Field Championships, becoming the first Warrior boys to do so since 2005.
Cornejo took first in the 300 hurdles and Woo was first in the high jump.
Kelsey Drain equaled Carpinteria’s school record in the pole vault with a jump of 10 feet. She placed third in the vault and third in the 300 hurdles.
All three athletes qualified for CIF as a result.
Oaks Christian won the team Tri-Valley League titles in both boys and girls varsity. The Lions also won the frosh/soph girls competition, with Oak Park capturing the frosh/soph boys title.
Other CIF qualfiers for the Warriors included Kyle Millhollin (400), David Cornejo (long jump), Trevon Guevara (triple jump), Andrew Sova (triple jump), Andrew Hack (pole vault), Xavier De Alba (shot put), Juan Jimenez (shot put) and the 4×400 relay. For the girls it was Lois Stanley (400).
