As CIF softball brackets were released on Monday, Dos Pueblos’ path towards a possible second-straight CIF title became a little clearer.
The reigning Division 4 champs will host a wild-card winner on Thursday in the first round. The third-seeded Chargers (23-3) await the winner between Coachella Valley and Marantha.
Carpinteria’s Warriors (18-5-1) are also a No. 3 seed and will host their Division-6 opener. Bishop Union and Nuview Bridge play in a wild-card game to decide who will travel to Carpinteria on Thursday.
San Marcos (10-15) will be playing in Tuesday’s wild-card round at Covina (17-9). If the Royals win they would have to travel to Garden Grove on Thursday.
