California Fight Syndicate (CFS), California?s premier promoter of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), announced today that it will present ?The Return?, an MMA event at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara on June 30, 2012. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Santa Barbara?s Primo Boxing Club, a gym that delivers much-needed afterschool activities for at-risk youth in Santa Barbara.
?Santa Barbara is our home, and we are very excited to ?Return? and offer some outstanding entertainment to our home audience and fans,? said Anthony Arria, CFS president. ?Many of us in Santa Barbara, and not just combat sports but throughout the community know that good things that Joe and Jean Pommier do at Primo Boxing, and we know of the financial issues that they face. We thought we would donate some of our revenue and ask our fans to help them out.?
?Anthony and California Fight Syndicate are stepping up in a huge way,? added Joe Pommier, Primo Boxing?s head coach and director. ?We have struggled the past few years, and have had numerous people say they would help, but at the end of the day that support fell through. We work with high-risk youth, helping them conflict resolution skills, homework when needed, as well as condition and training. Anthony and his team offered to do something amazing, and we are eternally grateful.?
?The Return? will feature amateur fights that will showcase some of the best MMA talent in California. A total of 16 fighters will face off in fights sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission and the California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Organization. Updated fight information and tickets are available online at CFSmma.com. Ticket prices start at $35.
?We are very excited to showcase the great young fighters that will participate in ?The Return? and being able to help Primo Boxing,? added Arria. ?Leading up to the event there will be numerous opportunities for fans to engage with CFS, the fighters and Primo Boxing, including a ring girl competition, T-Shirt giveaway and more.?
