The Carpinteria softball team finished the year with a perfect 10-0 record against Frontier League opponents after dominating Villanova 17-0.
The highlight of Thursday’s game was Dakota Wilcox’s two home runs in the sixth inning. The first was a solo shot and her next time up, she smakced three-run homer.
When asked if he ever had a player hit two home runs in the same inning, coach Henry Gonzales said, “This is the first time.”
Catalina Maldonado pitched the first five innings of the game and picked up her 18th win of the season. Tatiana Verdugo came in to close out the game.
Carpinteria finished the regualr season with an 18-5-1 overall record, which has earned them the No. 5 ranking in CIF Divison 6.
“I’m proud of the girls and how they’ve workd hard and everything they’be been able to accomplish this year,” Gonzales said.
The Warriors will receive their playoff draw on Monday.
