A current Dos Pueblos standout athlete and a former one earned Athlete of the Week honors at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon.
Charger sophomore Addi Zerrenner was named the female award recipient for her record-setting distance double at the Santa Barbara County Track and Field Championships on Saturday.
DP Steven Reveles was the male award winner for his solid performance last week for the City College baseball team. The freshman shortstop batted 7-for-15 in three games with six RBIS. He drove in four runs in a wild 12-11 victory over Hancock on Thursday.
Reveles leads the Vaqueros in batting average at .344 and RBIs with 27.
Zerrenner eclipsed county meet records in winning the 1600 and 3200 titles at Carpinteria’s Memorial Stadium. Her 3200 time of 10:44.18 erased the 1988 record of Santa Barbara’s Jamie Park by 10 seconds. In the 1600, she ran 5:05.78 to beat the 2004 mark of Santa Barbara’s Anne Kennedy by five seconds.
