The Carpinteria High softball team played its first game in 17 days on Tuesday and hit three home runs in an 8-0 rout of Viewpoint on the road.
Dakotah Wilcox showed that there was no rust on the Warriors from their time off and belted a three-run homer in the first inning to start the scoring.
Catalina Maldonado made her 11th start of the season and pitched a complete game shutout while also hitting her third and fourth home runs of the year.
“We did a good job of being focused,” head coach Henry Gonzales said.
The Warriors (6-4-1) will return home for a showdown with Santa Paul on Thursday.
