The Carpinteria High boys tennis team jumped out to a big lead at Nordhoff on Tuesday and was able to hold off a late surge to win 10-8.
The score was 9-8 in favor of the Warriors heading into the final matchup of the day, and Justin Nathanson earned his second point to ensure victory for his team.
In doubles play, the teams of Matt Jansen/David Harms and Jonathan Cleek/Collin Nathanson both had strong outings and finished at 2-1.
Carpinteria (7-10 overall, 6-0 Tri-Valley League) will play St. Bonaventure on Thursday at Ventura College as it continues its quest for the program’s first league championship in 20 years.
