San Marcos’ boys volleyball team closed out its Channel League season on Thursday with a 25-12, 30-28, 25-22 sweep of Buena at the Thunderhut.
Seven San Marcos seniors were recognized on senior night. In what will most-likely be their last high school match in the Thunderhut, Spencer Johnson, Kyle Estabrooks, BJ Elton, Aaron Duke, Ian Dahill, Cody Martinez and Jack Shields went out on top.
The Royals (11-11, 3-5) finish league play in fourth place and will apply for an at-large playoff bid.
Kevin Hempy led the Royals with 10 kills. Sophomore Baker Johnson only played the third set but quickly collected six kills on 14 attempts.
Of the seniors, Johnson totaled nine kills and Shields had seven. Dahill recorded 24 assists.
