The Cate School girls lacrosse team took a seven-game unbeaten streak into its home match against Palos Verdes on Friday, but the Rams lost the high-scoring affair 21-18.
“It was a great game against a very good team that was having a very good day,” coach Linda Sommers said.
Alexis Hill was dominant on the offensive end and scored nine goals in the match, accounting for half of her team’s points. Hill also had three draw controls.
Cate’s other two captains, Annie Weis and Lisa Huang, put in the other nine goals. Weis had seven scores to go along with her two assists and seven draw controls, while Huang added two more goals and had two draw controls.
Goalkeeper Yansy Salmeron finished the game with ten saves.
Cate (7-1 overall, 2-0 Condor League) will play next on Wednesday against an undefeated Agoura team on the road.
