The Cate School boys tennis team was knocked out of last year’s Division IV CIF Championships in the quarterfinals by Santa Ynez, but the Rams took the rematch 11-7 on Wednesday.
Cate, the No. 10 ranked team in the division, hosted the Pirates, who are ranked No. 2.
Blake Mackall led the way for the Rams, blanked all three of his opponents 6-0 to help his team win seven-of-nine singles matches.
The team of Abhay Singh and Brendan Lokre swept their matches in doubles play.
Cate (4-3 overall, 2-0 Condor League) will continue its season on Friday against San Marcos.
