Catalina Maldonado and the Carpinteria Warriors softball team recorded their second-straight shutout on Wednesday with a 6-0 defeat of Santa Paula.
The Warriors improved to 2-0 in Frontier League play with Bishop Diego next on the schedule this coming Tuesday.
Maldonado struck out five batters and went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Dakotah Wilcox spurred the offense with a two-run double in the first inning. Jessica Macias came through in the sixth inning with a two-RBI single.
Carpinteria holds a 7-4-1 record overall.
