Chloe Madill and Cassie Davis each had home runs in the Dos Pueblos High softball team’s dominant 10-0 victory over Ventura.
The Chargers scored early and often and the Channel League game was called after six innings due to the mercy rule.
For Madill, it was her third homer of the season while it was Davis’ first. Veronika Gulvin also had an excellent day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and one batted in.
Hannah Harris pitched yet another shutout and helped the Chargers extend their streak to 13 games without allowing more than two runs scored in a game. Harris also helped out her own cause by going 2-4 with an RBI and a double.
However, the streak could have been in danger if not for some excellent outfield play from Allysa Lewis, who made an over-the-should grab in center field to rob Ventura of a home run.
The Chargers (15-2 overall, 7-1 CL) will play next tomorrow against Oxnard in the Thousand Oaks Tournament.
