The Santa Barbara boys tennis team sealed its claim to the Channel League championship with a 15-3 win over Dos Pueblos on Tuesday.
“It was another great team effort,” coach Greg Tebbe said. “Our guys were excited to be playing for the Channel League title against a very good Dos Pueblos team. I was extremely happy with how we competed and our sportsmanship throughout the match.”
The Dons’ doubles dominated and none of the three pairs dropped a set.
In the singles, Graham Massen and Ryan Chung also went undefeated.
Santa Barbara finished its Channel League season with a perfect 8-0 record.
Dos Pueblos also had a very successful league campaign, going 6-2 with its only two losses coming against the Dons.
“I am proud of our team’s performance. I appreciate its display of versatility, heart, drive, and support today,” Chargers coach Liz Frech said.
The Dons, who are ranked No. 5 in CIF Division I, will face Harvard-Westlake tomorrow at home. Harvard-Westlake is ranked third in CIF Division I.
Both teams will compete in the Ojai Tournament starting Thursday.
