Nordhoff’s Jared Culver gave Carpinteria problems in a Tri-Valley Leagfue game on Thursday, limiting the Warriors to four hits in a 4-2 victory for the Rangers in Carpinteria.
Culver pitched a complete game and upped his record to 3-1. Culver struck out six batters and pitched out of trouble in the fourth inning when the Warriors scored their two runs.
Diego Martinez knocked in the two runs with a bases-loaded two-out single.
None of Nordhoff’s four runs were earned as the Warriors committed three errors.
Colton Rubio (5-2) started for Carpinteria and struck out six.
Both teams have even records in league play. Nordhoff is 3-3 and Carpinteria 2-2.
