The Cate School boys volleyball team defeated Laguna Blanca on the road in a closely contesed five-set match.
The game scores were 26-24, 19-25, 25-23, 14-25, and 20-18.
Spencer Whiteman led the Rams with 17 kills while Herschel Jordan added 11 more. Walker Ross also played a fantastic game at opposite hitter, and he and Jordan took over the fifth set to swing the game for Cate. Ross made his contribution on defense, recording several blocks in the deciding game.
For the Owls, Stephen McCaffery and Andrew Vignolo led the way on offense with 19 and 15 kills, respectively. JT Aubrey helped with defense and passing and finished with 20 digs.
Laguna Blanca will continue its season at home against Providence Hall on Tuesday.
Cate will play next on Wednesday at home against Besant Hill.
