Carpinteria overcame a slow start and defeated St.Bonaventure 10-8 in a boys tennis match on Tuesday.
“In all honesty, this was a tough one to watch,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “We did
not have the greatest warmup and it carried over into the first two rounds, where the score was tied 6-6.
The Warriors picked up their play in the third round and won four sets
Cole Menegon, Justin Nathanson and Ben Murray all won two sets.
“All three players played well with Cole and Justin getting late come-from-behind victories against their No. 2 player,” said Bryant.
The Warriors’ No. 3 doubles team of Matt Jansen/David Harms also won two out of three sets.
Carpinteria improves to 3-7 on the year and 2-0 in league.
