Ben Murray won two of three sets for Carpinteria in a 13-5 non-league tennis loss to Rio Mesa on Thursday.
The doubles team of Tim Goulart and Greg Norton played well and pulled off a 7-6 win over Rio Mesa’s No. 3 tandem.
“That was the best match those two have played all year against a team that easily beat our No. 1 and No. 3 doubles teams,” said Bryant.
The coach also liked the play of Collin Nathanson and Jonathon Cleek. “They will be a tough tandem in the future,” he said.
Carpinteria is 1-5 on the year and will be at the First Serve Tournament on Saturday at West Torrance High.
