SBCC started slow in the first two sets on Wednesday and Moorpark took advantage to post a 25-22, 25-11, 25-23 men’s volleyball sweep.
The visiting Vaqueros, ranked No. 5 in the state, had their four-match win streak snapped and fell to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the Western State Conference. Moorpark (6-3, 1-1) is ranked No. 8.
Santa Barbara fell behind 11-6 in each of the first two sets.
“We started slow and never recovered,” said coach Armen Zakarian. “I tried a new lineup and it just didn’t work out.”
The Vaqueros make their WSC home debut against L.A. Pierce on Friday at 6 p.m.
