The Santa Barbara Volleyball Club’s 18-Smack team just missed qualifying for the USA Volleyball Junior Nationals.
In the deciding match for a berth in the national tournament, the 18-Smack lost a tough three-setter against Coast, 27-29, 25-21, 14-16.
The team went 7-2 during the tournament.
The 18-Blue team competed in the 18s Club division and went 4-5 to finish 51 out of 130 teams.
The 16-Smack, competing among 43 teams in the 16s open division, finished middle of the pack at 21st.
16-Blue went 6-3 in matches in the 16s Club division and finished 33rd out of 192.
