Santa Ynez pummeled Bishop Diego 13-2 on Friday afternoon in a non-league game in which the Cardinals didn’t score until the final half an inning.
The Pirates piled on three runs in the first, five in the second, and four in the fourth to open up a 12-0 lead.
Nolan Tooley, who started on the mound for Bishop, gave the Cardinals their only offense in the top of the seventh with a two-run homer.
The Cardinals (3-2) face Carpinteria in their next game on Wednesday.
Nathan Thompson started for Santa Ynez (6-2).
