Stephanie Swann tripled and scored the only run for San Marcos in an 11-1 loss at Santa Paula in the Royals’ first softball game of the season.
The Royals trailed 4-0 when they scored in the third inning. Swann tripled and came home on a sacrifice bunt by Veronica Villarreal. Swann also had a single in the first inning.
Santa Paula blew the game open with six runs in the bottom of the fourth.
San Marcos is back in action on Saturday against Carpinteria and Morro Bay at the Santa Ynez Tournament.
