Dunn held Cate scoreless for much of the first half on Wednesday, but the Rams adjusted and went on to defeat the Earwigs 12-9 in a Condor League game.
Eight different players scored for Cate, led by Annie Weis’ four. Alexis Hill also recorded a multi-goal game with two scores and added two assists.
“As Dunn is always a well-coached team that knows our strengths and weaknesses, they came out strong and held us scoreless for about half of the first-half,” explained Rams assistant coach Linda Sommers. “Finding the open player with a balanced attack was the key to our success as Dunn was going to double- and triple- team Annie and Alexis all game.”
Lisa Huang, Sydney Read, Mabel Sabina, Tayor Erling, Emily Nguyen and Meghan Killea added scores for Cate.
The victory improves Cate’s overall record to 4-0. The Rams face Newbury Park on Friday.
