Thursday’s non-league boys volleyball match between Channel Islands and Laguna Blanca went down to the wire in the fifth set, with the Raiders prevailing 25-20, 27-25, 23-25, 22-25, 18-16.
Laguna Blanca came from behind to win the third game and rallied in the fifth set before falling.
“The boys played tough tonight and showed a lot of heart,” said Owls head coach Dillon Bennett.
JT Aubrey’s 16 kills and 12 digs carried Laguna. Stephen McCaffrey collected six kills and 10 digs.
