Sean Searls’ one-over 72 led Santa Barbara High’s boys golf team to a 395-403 victory over West Ranch at Rancho San Marcos on Monday.
The Dons were able to edge West Ranch in large part due to Searls, who was five strokes better than the next best round. Searls collected four birdies during the round.
That happened to be teammate Jonathan Collins at 77. James Morton scored a 79, Spencer Mikles an 83, and Ryan Stoll at 84 rounded out Santa Barbara.
West Ranch’s top score belonged to Isaac Kim at 78. Joey Downey and Casey May posted matching 79s. Steven Mottman, with 83, and Brandon Dooley, with 84, were next.
Both schools will be competing at Thursday’s Ryder Cup style tournament at Robinson Ranch GC with eight teams total.
