Kelsey Drain won four events as the Carpinteria High track team defeated Cate 93-41 in the boys meet and 89-47 in the girls meet on Wednesday.
Drain won the 100 meter hurdles (18.24), 300 meter hurdles (51.78), pole vault and was part of the 4×100 meter relay team. Her jump of 9’8″ was a personal best in the pole vault.
Lois Stanley also had an excellent day, winning the 200 meters (27.27), 800 meters (243.63) and setting a meet record of 59.95 seconds to win the the 400 meters.
Also in the girls competititon, Linda Buchmiller won the shot put (23’11”) and discus (81’08”).
In the boys meet, Andrew Hack won both the 110 meter high hurdles (18.26) and the pole vault (10″6′). David Cornejo set a personal record with a 41.60 second time in the 300 meter hurdles and Xavier De Alba won the discus (119’8″) and finished second in the shot put (37’3″).
For Cate, Joshua Yaro won the 200 meters (23.03), 400 meters (51.94) and the long jump (19’4.5″).
In the girls meet, Danielle Gray won the 100 meters (14.39) and finished second in the 200 meters (29.90), while Adrian Walsh won the 1600 meters (600.63) and finished second in the 800 meters (247.88).
Both the boys and girls teams for Cate are now 0-1.
For the Warriors, the boys team improves to 2-1 while the girls are 3-1. Carpinteria’s next meet is on April 4 at home against Oak Park.
