Dos Pueblos’ solid group of distance runners combined to take first place in the distance medley relay at the Ventura Invitational track and field meet on Saturday.
The quartet of Max Davis, Jordan Degraffinreid, John Linehan and Bryan Fernandez clocked 10:43.87, which was only four seconds off the meet record.
The Chargers’ frosh-soph 4×100 team of Natalie Klapp, Tabbie Magner, Megan Gee and Sydney Eilbacher won in 51.57, which would have placed them second in the varsity race.
Other DP winners included Andi DeRogatis in the 300 hurdles with a personal best of 47.8 and Stamatia Scarvelis in the shot put (39-10.75) and discus (120-1). Jennifer Jimenez earned fourth in the shot put at 34-10.5.
In other results from the meet: the girls 100m shuttle hurdles relay took 6th in 73.60 (Andi DeRogatis, Rachel Fry, Sydney Kovacs, Kayla Garcia) and the boys took 8th in 74.24 (Evan Lew, Kyle Cordes, Bryan Vampola, Josh Fry).
The Charger girls distance medley relay team (Emma Redick, Jordan Tymon, Marika Schipper, Addi Zerrenner) bettered their time from last week by 20 seconds to finish fourth in 12:56.57.
Individuall, Niema Poindexter was second in the long jump with a season-best 16-10, and Joe Strong took second in pole vault at 13-3, behind Michael Montgomery from Moorpark who set the meet record (15-3).
