Coming off a runer-up result at the weekend’s Dos Pueblos Invitational, Santa Barbara High’s boys volleyball team rode its momentum to a 25-11, 25-17, 25-6 rout of Buena on Tuesday.
“After Saturday, we have a lot of confidence,” said Dons head coach Chad Arneson, who noted that it was one of the fastest matches he’s been a part of as coach.
It was the Channel League opener for Santa Barbara, which is 9-5 overall. The Dons face San Marcos on Thursday before taking a week off from competition for Spring Break.
Arneson credited several players for getting the job done in Tuesday’s league opener at J.R. Richards Gym.
Quinlan Dougherty led the team with eight kills and outside hitter Ben Reisman converted six kills. Hart Pitcher and Tim Cronshaw also came through in extended court time.
