The Santa Barbara High boys volleyball team traveled to Royal on Tuesday and won in four sets.
The scores in the games were 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, and 25-19.
Sam Cohen led the team with 13 kills out of the middle blocker position.
“He really set the tone for us,” head coach Chad Arneson said.
Holden Ploch also had an effective hitting night with 13 kills. Quinlan Dougherty received a start in the game and did not waste the opportunity, turning in a fine performance, said Arneson
Setter Gavin Trudeau and libero Vince Velasco helped the Dons pass effectively and get the ball the hitter. Velsco finished the match with 10 digs.
The Dons will travel to San Diego on Friday for the Best of the West Tournament. One of the teams in their pool is Santa Margarita, last year’s CIF Division I runner-up.
