The Dos Peublos boys volleyball team needed all five sets to get past Ventura on the road and neither team won two consecutive games during the match.
The set scores were 25-12, 17-25, 25-21, 17-25 and 15-10.
“I’ve never had a team go five so often,” Chargers head coach Chris Hughes said. “It’s a really satisfying win.”
Gabe Burdick led the team with 19 kills to go along with two aces and two blocks. Jordan Foster and Kevin Pappas also had productive hitting nights with eight and seven kills, respectively. Pappas also chipped in three blocks and five digs.
The Chargers (6-9 overall, 2-0 Channel League) will not play until after spring break, returning to action on April 5 at Santa Ynez.
