The Bishop Diego High boys volleyball team was defeated at home by Malibu in four sets on Thursday.
The scores in the games were 25-20, 25-18, 17-25, 25-21.
Despite the loss, head coach Jason Donnelly saw positive signs from his team.
“We came out very flat in the first two games and basically gave them away,” Donnelly said. “Our third game was, in my opinion, our best of the season but we just couldn’t get all the way back in it. We’re glad we have another shot at them this season.”
Jose Del Campo played well on the night with five kills, two aces and three blocks. Ryan Inglehart helped out the offense with excellent passing, and had two important digs in the Cardinals’ victorious third set.
Bishop Diego (1-2 overall, 1-1 Tri-Valley League) will continue its season on Tuesday at Nordhoff.
