Bishop Diego’s baseball team is ranked No. 2 in Division 6 and Dunn is ranked No. 3 in Division 7.
The Cardinals made the better case for the higher ranking on Wednesday, clobbering the Earwigs 15-0 in a non-league game.
Reese Moulton, John Rios and Nolan Tooley combined for the shutout while allowing just four hits to Dunn.
Bishop Diego racked up 20 hits to score its 15 runs. Aidan Williams was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate and scored four runs with three RBI. Jack Gregson’s three hits included a triple and a double and resulted in three RBI.
The score was only 1-0 after two innings but Bishop Diego added 13 runs in the third, fourth and fifth frames.
It was Bishop Diego’s third win in a row. Friday the Cardinals travel to Santa Paula for a Frontier League game.
