Warriors unable to keep pace with 10-0 Malibu

The Carpinteria boys basketball hung with Malibu during the first half of its road match on Wednesday, but the host team pulled away in the third and fourth quarters to win 53-34 and finish at a perfect 10-0 in the Frontier League.

Andrew Sova, Jordan Robinson and Kyle Millhollin all led the Warriors with six points.

The game stayed close for most of the first half and Carpinteria only trailed by ten after the second quarter. After the break, the Warriors were unable to gain ground as Malibu extended its lead.

Carpinteria finished its season with a 2-8 league record and will not compete in the playoffs.

“There was never a doubt in how hard my kids played all season,” head coach Johnny Ward said proudly. “As a coach, all you can ask for is for your kids to play hard every game.”
