McKenzie Scarborough’s fourth, fifth and sixth goals of the week lifted Laguna Blanca’s girls soccer team past Dunn on Saturday 4-1 in a Condor League game.
The game was tied 1-1 when Scarborough scored two in a row and created a 3-1 advantage for the Owls at halftime. The senior added another in the second half for her second hat trick of the week.
Ari Rodriguez recorded Laguna’s first goal with a long shot from 25 yards out. Fiona Jessup managed the defense that limited Dunn’s opportunities.
“We passed the ball well and moved well off the ball,” said Owls head coach Kevin Shertzer. “The victory puts us in a very good position to win the league, but it’s still too early to count on that.”
Laguna Blanca has two games remaining before playoffs: Thacher on Wednesday and Dunn on Friday.
