Annie Weis pinned down Thacher with three goals on Saturday, powering Cate to a 4-0 Condor League victory.
Weis scored the first two in the first half and added a third soon after halftime.
“Annie’s third goal was a beautifully arched shot into the back of the net that should make ESPN’s plays of the week,” said Cate head coach Lisa Holmes.
Marguerite Mannix scored Cate’s fourth goal in the 72nd minute.
The defensive efforts of Georgie Walker, Ellen Lempres, Jazmin Paz and Sydney Read combined to keep the Thacher offense from challenging keeper Eliza Giles.
Cate’s final regular season game is Wednesday against Dunn.
