The San Marcos boys golf team battled the elements at Sandpiper Golf Course, but lost 389-414 to Mira Costa.
“Wind, cold and rain is never fun at Sandpiper, which even plays hard when its gorgeous out,” Royals coach Dave Siordia said.
Mira Costa’s David Kim was the medalist with a score of 71.
San Marcos was led by Thayer White who shot a 79 during the match.
San Marcos (0-2) will travel to Santa Ynez tomorrow for a five-team meet at Alisal River Golf Course with Santa Barbara, Dos Pueblos, Santa Ynez and Clovis West.
