The Cate School boys volleyball struggled in its first match of the season and lost to Nordhoff in straight sets.
“When we needed to we executed,” head coach Richard Pertsulakes said. “We just let them run off too many points on us.”
The scores for the games were 25-16, 25-16 and 25-14.
Bowen Baker led the Rams with a solid all-around performance, recording five kills and five digs. Walker Ross finished the night with three kills and a dig, while Michael Castaneda chipped in two more kills and another dig.
“There were not as many positives as I would like,” Pertsulakes said. “But we didn’t back down and we never gave up.”
Cate (0-1) will break until after spring vacation and return to action on March 21 at home against Providence Hall.
