The Cate School girls lacrosse team faced a 4-0 deficit early in the first half, but came back to defeat Oak Park 14-12. The Rams received eight goals from Alexis Hill and four from Emily Nguyen.
Oak Park controlled the first half and led 9-4 at the break, but Hill and the Rams came storming back. The junior was sick to her stomach at the beginning of the match, but overcame the illness to score seven of her eight goals in the second half.
Nguyen was dominant in transition and hustled her way to three second-half scores.
The Cate defense was excellent after halftime, and goalie Yansy Salmeron also had an impressive day, coming up with 13 important saves.
The Rams will break for spring vacation and play next on March 24 at home against Chaminade.
