Dos Pueblos and Cate kicked off the boys tennis season on Friday, with the Chargers recording the 14-4 non-league victory.
The Chargers’ doubles teams went a combined 9-0 in set play to give Dos Pueblos the edge. Jake Roberts and Caleb Franzen teamed up as one of Dos Pueblos’ 3-0 doubles teams. Mason Casady and Sam Boulanger, also 3-0, started the season as another doubles team, as did Alex Yang and Greg Steigerwald.
Cate’s Blake Mackall was the one singles player to sweep three sets. Dos Pueblos’ singles players were 5-1 in their other sets, with Patrick Corpuz and Sean Handley winning twice each.
