Justin Nathanson and Ben Murray posted the only set victories for Carpinteria in a season-opening boys tennis loss to Oxnard.
“They got strong as the match wore on, as did most of the other players,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “That was good to see.”
Bryant noted that half of his team were playing in their first varsity match.
The Warriors are back in action Monday at Malibu.
