Westmont’s Preston Branson from Dallas, Texas and C.J. Miller of La Verne, California, have been named to the All-Golden State Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Team.
This marks the second year in a row that Branson has received All-GSAC honors.
Branson, a junior guard, led the conference in scoring for the second year in a row, averaging 17.6 points per game and tallying 474 points. He was third in the GSAC in free throw percentage at 84.9 (169 of 199).
On February 8, Branson became the 39th member of Westmont 1,000 point club. Currently he has 1,096 career points and sits in twenty-eighth place on the career scoring list. He is eighth in career free throws at 351.
Miller, a sophomore forward, leads the GSAC in three-point shooting percentage at 44.7 (42 of 94), which is ninth best in Warrior single season history. Miller is twelfth in the conference in scoring at 12.6 points per game. He is also twelfth in field goal percentage at 52.5 (126 of 240) and tenth in rebounding at 6.0 per game.
The Warriors will enter Golden State Athletic Conference play on Thursday as the number five seed. Westmont will play at Azusa Pacific beginning at 7:30 p.m.
