George Rojas’ hat trick was more than enough for Carpinteria’s boys soccer team on Monday as the Warriors recorded a 7-0 Tri-Valley League victory.
Rojas’ first goal, described as “amazing” by Warriors head coach Daniel Torres, came in the first minute. The sophomore went on to score again in the 11th and 62nd minutes.
It was the Warriors’ seventh straight league win. With four TVL contests remaining in the regular season, Carpinteria is in first place.
“The good thing is we’re in the driver’s seat,” said Torres.
Omar Vasquez, Ramiro Vega, Genaro Hurtado, and Edwin Elizarraras added goals for the Warriors (12-6, 7-1).
Carpinteria plays again on Wednesday in a TVL game against Fillmore that kicks off at 6:30 p.m. in Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.
