Carpinteria scored four goals in the Warriors’ fourth straight win on Friday, roughing up Malibu 4-1.
The red-hot Warriors handed the Sharks their first loss of the season in 10 games. After a loss to Oaks Christian to start Tri-Valley League play, Carpinteria has improved to 4-1 after the first round of games.
“We’re winning, which is important,” said Carpinteria head coach Daniel Torres.
Luca Rigatoni and Ramiro Vega gave the Warriors an early cushion with two goals in the first five minutes.
“We got things going right away; it was nice,” Torres commented.
A 2-0 halftime lead was expanded by Omar Vasquez’s goal in the 50th minute, but Malibu responded to make it 3-1.
Mohammed Mehai finished off the scoring with a nice finish late in the match.
The Warriors can look ahead to two TVL contests next week starting with Santa Paula on Monday.
“Definitely a nice win like I said, we’re just going to have to feed off it for Monday’s game,” Torres said. “We have to keep it rolling; they’re starting to gel pretty well on the field.”
