Playing against the top-ranked team in Division 5-AA, Bishop Diego’s girls basketball team fell 68-34 at Mission Prep on Saturday.
Despite the lopsided score, Cardinals head coach Jeff Burich thought his team played better than in their last game.
“We definitely rotated better defensively and talked more,” Burich said.
Greer Shull’s 14 points led Bishop Diego. Madison Ballard and Josie McCoy both added eight points to the effort.
Mission Prep was led by Brianna Harvey, with 16 points, and Jenna Dunbar, who added 13.
“You can tell these girls have been playing together for awhile,” Burich said.
After a week in which Bishop Diego played four games in five days, the Cardinals are in game action just once this coming week. On Tuesday, Bishop hosts Santa Clara.
